YoYo... Last Craft For 2009...

I would have loved to have reflected on the year gone past like CurlyPops and patted myself on the back but alas there is just no time. Carlos and I are both still packing, picking up boxes, managing 3 children and getting a little frazzled with just how much stuff we have accumulated and still have to pack.

The big move is on Saturday so happing all goes well and things just fall in to place like they normally do... There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

In amongst packing my studio I found a button on a yoyo I made some time ago.
I opened the jar of ring attachments, got a needle and thread out, sewed it on and now have a New Year Ring hehe. I think I will add it to the Over It! collection...

I feel much better having fed my craft starved soul.
So back to packing...

Have a Happy New Year. I can't wait to start the newest chapter of Team MooBear's lives. I also look forward to following all your crafty endeavours in blog land!!

I think I might have a glass of CHAMPAIGN... I deserve it!!

Read Russian...Can You Translate This By Any Chance?

So we are busy packing boxes and Carlos is a collectors freak and picked these up knowing that they had something to do with the Russian Space program some time ago. But we're not actually sure what they really are other than pins.

Can anyone out there translate Russian?
It would be a little bit awesome if someone out there in blog land could shed some light...

MooBeary Christmas and Craft...

So we have decided to do all things handmade for Christmas and I was cutting really fine this time. To the point where I nearly sent off a petition to show Santa us crafters may need an extra week this year but I think we all got our acts together.

WARNING PHOTO HEAVY BUT YOU KNOW IT'S WORTH IT!!

I bought some newborn baby socks from the Treasure Shop and miniaturised Claire's owl pattern from her wonderful Owl Kit and made a brooch... I just used denim for the wings as I ran out of felt.

I quite like the look of denim so I made 2 more..YAY. I cant wait to make Woof Woof. Lucky there are some birthdays coming up. Not that I need an excuse of course!!

This shirt was going to be a dress for me but after I reassessed things I decided it suited my brother in law. The kids and I bought a stencil kit and have been extremely creative with it. Steve likes to ride his bike so this stencil is perfect don't you think?!

Back when visited the Stitches and Craft show I bought this off Kristen Doran. I finally got around to using it and made something very special for Bear.

CurlyPops suggested I turn it into wall art on one of my posts. So I did exactly that!! Now he will have some awesome pictures to hang in his new bedroom with matching little robot softies... Thank You CurlPops for your suggestion you really are SUPERPOPS!!

Lets get some perspective!! Stencil on canvas.

Moo and I got to work on another project with our stencils and made some T-shirt pillows for her Uncles. We made them so they suit their interests as well. Something personal shows a lot of love and thought.

Moo and I really excited about these... They just might make it onto my Over It! label.

Then Moo and I got back to work on 2 denim clutches.
Moo did the stencilling while I did the sewing...

Using all recycled materials...

Bubble was adamant that the blue girl was her's and I had a hard time trying to take photos... BUT SHE IS JUST SO ADORABLE!!

Front...

Skirt detail.

Finally (for this post anyway) 3 big boy robots for Carlos and his 2 brothers... They are going to have a good laugh at just how cool they are!!

So that's it from me for now. I hope you all had fun following my craftiness and crazy family this year. Have a Very Merry Christmas and do stay safe these holidays as I want to see you all again next year in blog land!!!

BIG LOVE AND WARM SNUGGLIES
TEAM MOOBEAR!!!

Sew Along For Christmas...

I can officially let you know that Team MooBear will be relocating up to the Central Coast in the new year...YAY... It's going to be a HUGE move but it will totally be worth it and best of all I wont miss my blog land friends because I can touch base with you guys everyday!!

Today is Moo's last day of school and it has only just hit me that we wont be near our wonderful community and friends. We plan on visiting every couple of weeks because we need to ween ourselves off Sydney life and it's crazy city ways. We are excited to move into a big house with more space to move with our expanding family. We'll be near the water, some of my family, schools, and National Parks on our back door step. It's the perfect creative location for our family and it will do us the world of good!!

Carlos and I have been pulled in all directions emotionally and have lost focus of a few things. The only way to regain some of that focus for me was to make things from my heart.

Here is a run down of so me of things I have made so far for Christmas so far and I must say I feel much better and ready to focus...

This is for my Amanda Girl.
She is a writer and after visiting Isis' blog (She is having a giveaway too so pop past and have a little look!!) I thought a quick and easy gift for a writer would be a scribble book for ideas. So I rummaged through my scrap material and found the perfect 'Amanda' material.

I recovered a notebook and lined the inside cover with MooBear Paper. I also bought a pencil from the Woman's Fair Trade Circle and the brooch I picked up from Finders Keepers. IT SCREAMS AMANDA!! Oh and a little lion bookmark... It goes with her satchel perfectly and she hasn't stopped thanking me yet... Your So Completely Welcome.

Making a handful of girly headbands...

Special order for a recorder bag by Litsa for her son.
Using a pair of Spiderman flannel PJ's.

This was a Special order for a friend who needed a gift for another friend who drives a truck!! She was stuck for ideas and I said it was a shame she didn't know someone in the T-shirt business. WAIT...Yes you do...so we did some brainstorming and this was the result. It pays to know people in the T-shirt business sometimes...

This next piece was made especially for Monica Trapaga one of our local celebrities. If you are in Sydney you should check out her shop. It is divine...

Over It Denim Clutch and Brooch.

There is more in the making so stay tuned you might just find the inspiration you need for a last minute gift idea...

KISS THIS!!!

BE WARNED THIS POST IS PICTURE HEAVY... BUT VERY WORTH IT!!

We have wanted to do this for a while and finally Sunday was the day!!
Things have just been really full on and busy so we decided we needed to do something fun with our family. After a morning trip to Kmart for supplies we had everything we needed to Rock'n'Roll. The kids all got their Tee's and patiently waited their turn...

We purchased face paint and metallic face crayons. Something unexpected were the KISS figurines which were $5 each. We printed off some reference material and set to work...

Bear was first...

Star Child is born... (note the figurines).

Moo's next...

The Cat has arrived...

Bubble wanted in on the action but would only stay still long enough for a cheek star...

The Demon.

The Spaceman was the last to arrive...

The band is complete and ready to Rock and Roll All Night... or in this case afternoon!!

Check us out!! Don't we just look like KISS!! I think I did an awesome job with our costumes... hehe.

After we finished taking photos it was time to get down to business and Rock out to some Kiss tracks on Guitar Hero.

Bubble familiarised herself with the band while we picked up our instruments.

Star Child on lead vocals (note the figurines).

The Demon on Bass Guitar...

The Cat on Drums...

The power of love and awesome parentingness.

But it didn't stop there. We all took a walk down to our local video store as we were... We turned heads, made people smile and had a big laugh with some of our close friends who we surprised at work...

I am sure if KISS had to choose a DVD it wouldn't be Hanna Montana... Do You?

This day was just what our family needed. We had an absolute ball with our children and they will NEVER forget this day. It was priceless and I can't wait to do another themed Family Day... some ideas people have suggested are Star Wars, Village People, ABBA and Adams Family... If you have any ideas we would love to hear them.

You never know where your kids interests are going to take you. I certainly learnt more about KISS in one day than I had in my life. Children learn by doing and it was just a natural thing for us to follow.
